CHASE PIANO for sale in OXNARD - A.B. CHASE PIANO posted by Michael in OXNARD. 100 year old upright piano. Still plays, need tuning.
Hello. I just joined and would like to ask a few questions. 1. I am going tomorrow to look at an A. B. Chase baby grand piano (5'6')that I was told is 50 years old. Now I also read that A. B. Chase was in business until 1938 as a maker of very good pianos and then merged into a larger group during and after the depression. My question is 'Are A. B. Chase pianos made after 1938 good pianos?'
Also, I visited the Steinway store and they had a 1909 (6'10') grand for $19,900. that has not been restored. Well, it has had some work done on it apparently and I loved it. It was a consignment piece and they didn't seem to want to sell it, however, and pushed me towards Baldwin at around $16,000.
Your thoughts?
